History
Veneration E-Sports was founded in January 2012 by [SCG]Spartan Company Gaming founder Steve "Perdition" French and [LOA]Legion of Anubis co-founder Alex "XaXas" van der Merwe.
Spartan Company Gaming was started near the end of 2010 by Steve 'Perdition' French with the help of Devon 'Red' Hutchison. His goal was a community in which Starcraft 2 players could come together in South Africa and enjoy the great game. During the early days of 2011 Perdition had to take his leave due to becoming a father. He left the clan in the trusted hands of Devon 'Red' Hutchison, Jax 'MiNioN' Frederik and Warwick 'Candle' Parris. During Perditions time away, a few additional admins as well as many players came and left the ranks of Spartan Company. After 2 years of extreme success and Perditions return, SCG was compiled of over 100 gamers, Featuring a multitude of Starcraft 2 players, an extremely Successfull Battlefield 3 team and a future Premier division Call of Duty 4 team. SCG then decided to focus on e-Sports and build a powerful group of gamers to take on the other e-sport mountains in the country.
Legion of Anubis was originally started as UpS - Unlimited Pwnage Supply by Luan "Soutie" Durant, Sean "Optik" gravett and Alex "XaXas" van der Merwe in November 2010 as a Call of Duty clan. During this time Steve "Perdition" French joined UpS with his team from Y!A - Youth Inspired Anarchy. After a few months the admins decided it would be best to break off and so LOA - Legion of Anubis was founded with Lionel "Target" Senore and Alex "XaXas" van der Merwe in February 2011. During the time that Perdition had his new born, his team left LOA and were replaced by the Call of Duty clan BoW - Beginning of Wight from which Jean "Boner" Fick founded. LOA continued on strong and expanded into Dota 2 and multiple times tried to expand into StarCraft 2 with little success. At the end LOA showcased 40 players.
Veneration e-Sports was born.[1]
With the history SCG shared with LOA it was only a mater of time before their paths would cross again. What started off as a shared Call of Duty 4 team evolved into an MGO - Multiple Gaming Organization. As SCG and LOA came together the MGO has grown from strength to strength[2]. Now featuring 13 teams in 8 different Games and 4 different genres. VnR plan on creating a legacy that will stand the test of time. [3]
